Equestrian strides lauded His Majesty attends leading horse race event

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa patronised yesterday the horse race held for His Majesty King Hamad Cup at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.  On arrival at the club, accompanied by HM the King’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King was received by Chairman of the Supreme Authority of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and senior officials.

The race was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, ministers, senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps and equestrian fans.

HM the King presented the trophies to the winners. He presented the Charter Cup to Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Cup for Arabian Horses to winning owner Hamad Al Merisi, His Majesty the King’s Cup for Bahrain-bred Horses to Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Cup for Imported Horses to Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championship Cup to trainer Yusef Al-Buainin and the last cup was presented to Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

HM the King expressed thanks and respect to all officials of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club for their efforts to develop the inherent Arabian equestrian sport, pointing out the importance given by the club since its inception to these races, which reflect Bahrain’s keenness to preserve them as part of the inherent Arabian sports.
