Hunt for culprits who attacked security guard in Bahrain

Manama : A  manhunt has been launched to nab those who brutally attacked an Arab security guard at an amusement park in the Capital Governorate a few days ago.

As reported online by DT News yesterday, the Jordanian national was attacked by over a dozen of men while he was carrying out his duties at Adhari Park. He was rushed to Salmaniya Medical Complex, where he was diagnosed with several fractures to the skull and face and other injuries.

Capital Governorate Police General Director Colonel Khalid Al Thawadi yesterday announced the arrest of some of the attackers. 

He said that “search is continued for the arrest of the remaining suspects”. Col. Al Thawadi explained in a statement issued here yesterday that “the authorities concerned moved to the scene and the victim was referred to the hospital”.

“The investigation led to the identification of the attackers, and some of them were arrested. Legal proceedings would be taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution,” the official added. 

Videos of the brawl were widely circulated on local social media networks this weekend, showing the victim being kicked and punched by a group of men. 

According to Jordanian press, the Jordanian Embassy in the Kingdom is following up on the case, as the man has no family members in Bahrain to assist him. The matter was widely discussed on local social networks. 

Some claimed that the security guard slapped an 18-year-old boy who broke the rules of the park and that what sparked the fight. However, this information could not be verified yet.
