Government set to regulate mobile restaurants
Manama : A government resolution will soon be issued to regulate operations of food trucks in the Kingdom, it was officially announced yesterday.
The Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry will soon launch an initiative to regulate operations of food trucks in its bid to activate the commercial sector in the Kingdom, the Ministry said on its official Instagram page yesterday.
“This comes as the popularity of food trucks is rapidly growing in the Bahraini society. We may have few of them operating in the country at the present time, but their numbers are expected to grow in the near future. Therefore, the Ministry will soon issue a resolution to regulate the work of this category of restaurants,” the ministry said.
The Ministry said that food trucks are a trend that it would support for many reasons, and mainly to support Bahraini entrepreneurs who invest in this sector.
Confirming its support to such initiatives, the Ministry added that these new projects contribute in reviving the economy, even if they were simple, adding that “huge projects begin with a small idea.”
