Families seeking investors for school

Manama : Families of  children with special needs are looking for an investor to set up a school for the differently abled students.

Due to the lack of schools that accept these children, residents have begun talks with investors to build a school in the Kingdom.

Fadia Haroon, who is the founder of the support group Special Family Support Bahrain(SFS), said that parents of these children are struggling to enrol their children at schools because of lack of options. She said that SFS is keen to help the investors set up a school by sharing data and insights.

She also said that the project would be a good investment for anyone as there is a huge demand for such schools, “We do not expect this to be a work of charity. Investors need to make a return and we are sure that money can be made in this venture. Apart from being  a social cause to support, it is also a good investment opportunity,” she added.

“Children with autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy are finding it most difficult to get admission. We want a school that will accept all sorts of children with special needs,” she said.

Most of these children struggle to move on because of lack of vocational training centres and educational institutions in the Kingdom.
