Bahrain to Host 7th GCC Digital Government Award 2026
The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the 7th GCC Digital Government Award 2026 as part of its presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), reaffirming its leadership in digital transformation and regional cooperation.
The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, said the award provides a regional platform to recognise outstanding digital government projects, encourage innovation through advanced technologies, and promote the exchange of best practices among GCC member states. He added that Bahrain's hosting of the event, alongside its chairmanship of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Digital Government, reflects the Kingdom's advanced digital government capabilities and commitment to enhancing government services across the region.
The award features nine categories, including Best Digital Government Service, Best Use of Artificial Intelligence, Best Open Data Initiative and Best Integrated Government Application. Government entities across GCC member states can submit nominations from July 19 to September 3, 2026, in coordination with their respective digital government authorities. The GCC Digital Government Award was established in 2009 to celebrate excellence and innovation in digital government across the region.
