Bahrain and the United States have signed a Joint Statement on the Artificial Intelligence Opportunities Partnership, marking a new step in strengthening cooperation in advanced technology and innovation.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the visit of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, to the United States.

The joint statement was signed by Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United States, and Elbridge Colby, US Under Secretary of Defense for Policy.

The partnership outlines a shared commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological collaboration to support economic growth and security in both countries. It highlights the importance of trusted partnerships in developing AI-related infrastructure, including energy, critical minerals, semiconductors, advanced computing, and digital connectivity.

The agreement also establishes a framework for enhanced cooperation on innovation-focused policies, AI supply chains, research and development, and private-sector investment in emerging technologies. It further encourages collaboration in advanced data centres, trusted AI models, semiconductor systems, and the development of innovative AI applications.

Building on the longstanding relationship between Bahrain and the United States, the partnership reflects both countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation in cutting-edge technologies while supporting sustainable economic development, competitiveness, and new opportunities for growth and prosperity.
