Guterres cautions of the risk of COVID 19 to global harmony and security

UN Secretary-general, Antonio Guterres, warned of the far-reaching effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, which could threaten international peace and security.
Guterres stressed, in his speech to the members of the Security Council during a closed session held via video technology, the need for increased solidarity if the world wanted to confront this health crisis, which has become the most dangerous test since the founding of this organization.
Guterres said that this time was not a time for political opportunism, expressing his fear that electoral processes will be affected because delaying or starting to vote may raise political tensions and undermine legitimacy.
