NEW DELHI: Indian investigators have apprehended two additional suspects in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak scandal, raising the total number of arrests to 13.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted the latest raids as part of an intensive operation to dismantle an organized syndicate responsible for compromising the national medical entrance exam.
The latest arrests follow revelations that the criminal network distributed leaked answer keys and ‘guess papers’ via encrypted mobile applications. Sources indicate that some candidates allegedly received the leaked materials just one night before the examination in exchange for massive financial payouts.
The CBI is currently tracing digital footprints and bank records to identify the primary conspirators who facilitated the breach. This integrity crisis has triggered widespread calls for immediate administrative overhauls within India’s testing infrastructure to protect the future of the medical profession and ensure fair competition for all students.
