Drunkard turns ‘traffic police’, gets beaten up
Manama
rnDrunkard turned ‘traffic police’ caused chaos in the middle of a junction here, inviting a brawl with a motorist yesterday. The incident took place at a popular junction next to the Al Fateh Mosque in Juffair. The culprit, a young man, apparently under the influence of alcohol, caused an unusual scene at the junction by standing in the middle of a junction and attempting to direct traffic flow until he instigated a brawl with a motorist. He tried to control the vehicles by giving hand signals on the wee hours of yesterday, according to witnesses.“What he did was very dangerous, he stood in the middle of a road and started pretending to be a traffic policeman. But later his movements became more haphazard and unpredictable that it looked dangerous. He could be seen moving around the junction waving hands. He even stopped some vehicles by standing in front of the cars. After a few minutes, he became even more restless and he kicked a car that was passing by. Two men got out of the car and had a fight with the man,” a source said. A video of the incident was captured by a witness and circulated on Bahaini Internet forums and social media.
