22-Year-Old Held Over Online Child Abuse

The Ministry of Interior announced that the Cyber Child Protection Unit at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly luring and exploiting a young girl through a social media platform.

According to the ministry, authorities immediately launched an investigation after receiving a report of the incident. Search and inquiry operations, along with the collection of evidence and information, led to the suspect's identification and arrest.

Legal procedures are complete, and the case is being prepared for referral to the Public Prosecution for further action.

The Cyber Child Protection Unit stressed the importance of strengthening parental supervision and raising children's awareness of the risks associated with interacting with strangers online, particularly those who use deceptive and manipulative tactics.

The unit urged parents to monitor their children's use of social media platforms and educate them about the dangers of sharing personal information or photographs with unknown individuals. It also called for the immediate reporting of any suspicious communications or attempts to lure children online.
