Youth Affairs Minister Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi announced the launch of the revamped Lamea Junior programme under the umbrella of the Lamea Association, as part of the Youth City 2030 activities.
The initiative represents a qualitative step aimed at developing leadership, communication, and teamwork skills among young people aged 12 to 14, while preparing a confident generation capable of self-expression and effective participation in society.
The Minister said the programme reflects the vision of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, which focuses on investing in national talent from an early age and enabling young people to explore and refine their capabilities in an environment that promotes learning, experimentation, and creativity.
“The renewed Lamea Junior programme is designed to identify young talent early and equip them with essential leadership, communication, and teamwork skills through an engaging and structured journey.”

She noted that the programme returns this year in a renewed format inspired by the national Lamea project, with a dedicated track tailored to the targeted age group. It includes advanced selection stages designed to identify promising talent and provide participants with a comprehensive training journey focused on character-building and strengthening skills in communication, presentation, public speaking, and teamwork.
The Minister added that Lamea Junior aims to instil leadership, responsibility, and commitment among youth, while enhancing their ability to express ideas confidently and clearly. The programme also features training workshops, interactive challenges, and field visits to leading national institutions, helping participants better understand work environments and achievement pathways in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
