Premier orders inspection campaigns against illegal abattoirs

ManamaTalking tough on health issues, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday ordered to intensify inspection campaigns against unauthorised slaughterhouses and ensure if they met the health safety norms. The order was issued by HRH Premier while chairing the Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa was also present.

Referring to the recent complaints of medical negligence, the Premier instructed the Health Ministry officials to take necessary measures to address them. “Give more attention to the complaints of patients and take prompt measures to address their grievances,” he remarked.

Prince Khalifa also instructed the ministry to ease the patients’ burden of long waits for treatment at Salmaniya Medical Complex and other health centres. He suggested to develop a new mechanism for ensuring that medical services are not affected by shortage of staff or medicines.

In another major decision, HRH Premier directed the officials to keep tab on illegal drivers to protect the livelihood of Bahraini taxi drivers.

The session also endorsed the issuance of the executive bills of the Commercial Registration Law and the Commercial Companies Law. The first regulates the application for registration, as well as its renewal or cancellation. It also regulates applications to change information of the registration. The second was amended to make it consistent with the provisions of Decree-Law 28/2015, which allows the establishment of static companies. The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, was requested to issue the necessary edicts.
