Moments to cherish!
Manama : The 2016 F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix has turned out to be a huge success.
Apart from hosting one of the biggest races in the world, the BIC also houses many activities, concerts and entertainment outlets, which creates an atmosphere of fun. With Avicii announcing his retirement, many young people, especially students, were lined up to watch and celebrate his last concert despite exam season.
DT News spoke to some young university students who attended F1 and here’s what they had to say:
Haneen Saleh said, “This year’s F1 was incredible. There was no trouble this year, no protests, no threats, it was very peaceful. Attending the Avicii concert was definitely worth it since this is his last tour.”
She added, “What I enjoyed the most were the performances. I honestly didn’t attend the race. It is getting very difficult to find tickets for less than BD60.”
Another student, Reem Isa, said, “This year’s organising is a lot better than the previous years. This year’s choice of artistes is excellent, but other than that, variety of activities was similar to years before and the tickets are overpriced as usual.”
Meanwhile, Business student Ahmed Kairy, said, “This year’s F1 was amazing. The event was well organised. Moreover, they brought the best artists, plus Axwell v Ingrosso were on a whole new level. The whole experience was refreshing and I can’t wait for next year’s event.”
Meanwhile, Bayan Al Khuzai had a slightly different opinion. “I felt that this year’s F1 was lacking something. It might be because I was only able to go for one day. I am attending it for the second time, the first time being in 2014. I feel that the last time was more enjoyable for me.”
Maram Faisal said, “I prefer this year to last year because it was more organised. I liked the music and the atmosphere. Everybody seemed happy and energetic and it made me happy in general.”
