Full occupancy at skydiving centre during F1 season
Manama : The highest glass skydiving tube in the world witnessed the heaviest turnout ever, including VIPs and superstars during the Bahraini F1 weekend.
Stars including Mercedes F1 Team Racer Lewis Hamilton visited Gravity Indoor Skydiving Centre at Al Wasmiya area, located beside the iconic Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) during the past three days.
Speaking to DT News yesterday, Gravity Indoor Skydiving General Manager Mitchell Lawson said the F1 season is considered the busiest all year, as fans, celebrities and VIPs visit the centre.
The centre witnessed 100 per cent occupancy, with more than double of the normal rates of clients walking in, especially during the morning hours.
“We have an F1 lounge, which is dedicated to speed fans. We have one of the largest LED screens in the world screening live what’s happening on the track. However, our busiest times are between 10am and 6pm, before the music concerts begin at the circuit,” Lawson said. One of the main guests at the centre in the past three days was Lewis Hamilton, who spent a private session flying for almost three hours.
Lawson added, “Hamilton visited the centre twice. He first came with friends, and the second time booked the tube for a 3-hour private session. He loved the experience, and even posted it on his official social media pages.”
Lawson said the centre has been preparing for the F1 season and ads have been posted in many places, including an innovative poster on Bahrain Financial Harbour.
“The centre is preparing a comprehensive promotive plan for the upcoming months and Ramadhan season. It includes sponsoring junior clubs and teams. We will soon develop into bigger scales,” Lawson added.
