143 Government Services Developed Across 22 Entities
As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer public services, 143 services across 22 government entities were enhanced between January 15 and September 3, 2026.
The initiative forms part of plans to further improve the quality of government services and enhance institutional efficiency and performance.
Among the key services developed this week was the automation of the work permit renewal service for Golden Residency holders, allowing applications to be completed instantly without the need to submit documents, compared with the previous processing time of 10 working days.
The environmental licensing service was also enhanced through a fully digital, unified and streamlined process, reducing the processing time from 15 to seven working days.
Other improvements included the digitisation of the service for leasing a waqf property, allowing applications to be submitted through the National Portal and reducing the processing time from 10 to four working days.
The registration service for medical devices and supplies was also upgraded, cutting the approval process from 20 to three working days and extending the registration validity from one year to three years.
In addition, the maximum processing time for submitting a review request to the Reviews and Grievances Section was reduced from 90 to 60 days.
The service development programme has contributed to improving government services through 100% electronic transformation of services, reducing service-level agreement periods by at least 25%, limiting application procedures to a maximum of four steps, and cutting required documentation by 50%.
The improvements also included reducing the number of approvals required to obtain services by 25%, cutting the number of pages needed to access services by 50%, enhancing user interfaces and experiences, simplifying procedures, converting application forms into electronic forms, and standardising service information published across all channels.
