Khaldiya look to build on flying start
Al Khaldiya will look to build on their emphatic start to the 2026-27 Nasser bin Hamad Premier League when they face A'ali tonight as the second round continues.
The two sides meet at the National Stadium at 7pm, while reigning champions Muharraq take on newly promoted Al Ettifaq at the same time at Al Ahli Club Stadium.
Croatian coach Goran Tomic's Al Khaldiya head into the encounter on the back of a commanding 7-2 victory over Al Najma in the opening round.
Walid Sabbar opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Ousman AlHajj struck twice, while Gleison Moreira and captain Mehdi Humaidan also found the net. Nizar El Otmani added a second-half brace to complete the rout.
Tomic's men can move onto six points with another victory tonight, while A'ali are searching for their first win after beginning the campaign with a 1-1 draw against newly promoted Manama.
Muharraq, meanwhile, will be aiming to register their first victory after opening their title defence with a 1-1 draw against Al Ahli.
Abdulwahab Al Malood struck the Red Wolves' equaliser just before half-time in that encounter.
Now under Bahraini coach Isa Al Saadoun, Muharraq will be looking to get their first win of the campaign.
Their opponents, meanwhile, will be aiming to bounce back after goals from Ali Madan and Mohammed Al Rumaihi condemned them to a 2-0 opening-round defeat to Riffa in their first match following promotion.
The second round concludes tomorrow, when Hidd face Al Ahli at the National Stadium and Manama take on Riffa at Al Ahli Club Stadium.
Both matches kick off at 7pm.
