Qatar Confirms Active Talks to Ensure Strait of Hormuz Remains Open

DOHA: Qatar is actively communicating with various international parties to ensure the Strait of Hormuz remains open for the global export of energy and the delivery of goods to the Gulf, the Foreign Ministry confirmed on Monday.
Spokesman Majed Al Ansari told a press conference that these diplomatic efforts are focused on guaranteeing the stability of the vital waterway. However, he clarified that Qatar is currently unaware of any official mediation taking place between the United States and Iran.
The spokesman highlighted that a diplomatic resolution remains difficult as Iranian attacks and threats against civilian targets continue. Al Ansari emphasized that Tehran must cease these hostilities to create a pathway for negotiations, noting that "Iran needs to stop the attacks so that we can find a diplomatic resolution."
