Bahrain and Oman Strengthen Housing and Urban Planning Ties

Her Excellency Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Bahrain’s Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Dr. Khalfan bin Saeed Al Shueili, Oman’s Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, on the sidelines of the Urbanism, Home, and Construction Conference and Exhibition hosted in Muscat.

The event brought together senior government officials, experts, real estate developers, and financial institutions from across the GCC to discuss future visions and collaborations in housing and urban development.

During the meeting, Minister Al Rumaihi commended Oman’s efforts in expanding its housing services through the development of new cities and residential programs. She congratulated Dr. Al Shueili on the successful organization of the conference, which featured insightful discussions and innovative ideas aimed at advancing housing initiatives across the region.

She also praised Oman’s landmark housing projects, particularly Sultan Haitham City — a model of sustainable urban transformation aligned with Oman Vision 2040. Al Rumaihi noted that the project reflects Oman’s commitment to creating livable, inclusive, and forward-looking communities.

For his part, Dr. Al Shueili welcomed Bahrain’s participation in the event and lauded the kingdom’s efforts in modernizing urban planning policies and introducing innovative housing solutions that meet citizens’ aspirations.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging expertise between Bahrain and Oman to enhance housing services and urban development in line with the highest international standards.

The meeting reaffirmed both nations’ shared commitment to sustainable urban growth and regional collaboration in shaping the future of housing across the GCC.
