In a heartwarming display of community spirit and social responsibility, Women Across, in collaboration with New Horizon School Bahrain, successfully launched their “Beat the Heat” initiative on June 12 at a construction site in Umm Al Hassam.

The initiative aimed to provide essential summer relief to outdoor workers who endure long hours under the scorching sun. As part of this compassionate effort, a variety of refreshments and provisions were lovingly prepared and distributed to the labourers. These included caps, refreshing fruits, snacks, Laban, juices, and freshly baked cakes, all designed to offer comfort and hydration during the intense heat.

The event was officially inaugurated by Mrs. Vandana Satheesh, Principal of New Horizon School, who actively participated in personally handing out the refreshments. Students from the school played a vital role, working alongside the Women Across team. This active involvement aimed to foster a culture of empathy, compassion, and community service among the young participants.

"We believe in building not just academically strong students, but socially aware and kind-hearted individuals," stated Mrs. Satheesh. "This initiative provided our students with a meaningful experience and a valuable lesson in giving back to the community."

They are the heart of a kinder future, and we are proud to walk this path of compassion together with them."

Women Across extended its sincere gratitude to Mr. Sayed Haneef, Founder of Light of Kindness, for his presence and continuous encouragement. Special thanks were also given to Mrs. Liji Syam, Non-Academic Coordinator of New Horizon School Bahrain, for her invaluable support and coordination, which ensured the smooth and successful collaboration. The organization also acknowledged their talented home bakers, Reshmi Anup and Surya, whose delicious cakes added a sweet and personal touch to the day.
