UAE and World Bank Align on Climate-Resilient

DPR Ambassador Ghasaq Shaheen held a productive meeting with Maria Dimitriadou, the World Bank’s Special Representative to the UN and Head of Multilateral Affairs.
The discussions focused on the World Bank’s ongoing economic research and development initiatives across the region, as well as its expanding engagement in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
Both sides also reviewed preparations for the 2026 UN Water Conference 2026, which will be jointly hosted by the United Arab Emirates and Senegal.
The UAE emphasized its commitment to working closely with the World Bank and international partners to advance the conference’s “Investments for Water” agenda. The initiative aims to mobilize greater financing for water infrastructure, strengthen global cooperation, and accelerate progress toward SDG 6 and broader climate-resilient water solutions.
