Max Verstappen Wins 2026 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix In Malaysia

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today presented the winner’s trophy to Max Verstappen of Oracle Red Bull Racing after he claimed victory in the 22nd edition of the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, hosted by Malaysia.

The event was held with the blessings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.

His Royal Highness congratulated the podium finishers and participating teams, praising their performance and competitive spirit, which contributed to the success of the race.

His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of international sporting events in strengthening Bahrain’s position on the global sports stage and showcasing the Kingdom’s expertise in motorsports.

He also expressed appreciation to His Majesty the King of Malaysia and His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, for their support in hosting the race, while commending Formula 1, the FIA, Bahrain International Circuit, Petronas Sepang International Circuit and the participating teams for their cooperation.

His Royal Highness praised Team Bahrain for successfully organising the race outside the Kingdom despite exceptional challenges, saying the achievement reflects the expertise and organisational capabilities of Bahrain’s national teams.

Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes-AMG Petronas finished second, while Sir Lewis Hamilton of Scuderia Ferrari HP secured third place.
