UAE to boost global digital connectivity 25-fold by 2030

The UAE is set to increase its international digital connectivity capacity from around 20 terabits per second to more than 500 terabits per second by 2030, as the country strengthens its infrastructure to support artificial intelligence and the digital economy.

The strategic project, launched by e&, will expand digital infrastructure in the UAE and international markets while developing diversified connectivity routes to improve network reliability, speed and latency.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Office, witnessed the launch during a briefing on e&’s digital infrastructure plans.

The expansion is aimed at meeting rising demand for data processing, cloud services and AI applications, while supporting the UAE’s ambition to become a global hub for advanced technology and artificial intelligence.

The project forms part of e&’s broader strategy to advance AI-powered telecommunications and strengthen its infrastructure, with the group operating in 38 countries and serving more than 250 million subscribers worldwide.
