Riyadh: The Saudi-led coalition has vowed to continue supporting Yemen's internationally recognised government, saying that attacks by the Iran-aligned Houthi movement endanger regional peace and stability.
The coalition stated that its support remains focused on defending Yemen and resisting threats that could further destabilise the region. It also pointed out the importance of preventing Houthi attacks from worsening tensions and endangering neighbouring nations and critical regional interests.
The Houthis, who control much of northern Yemen, have launched strikes on ships and regional targets, citing their stance on the Gaza crisis. The attacks sparked concerns about broader regional escalation and interruptions in marine trade.
Saudi Arabia has historically supported efforts to end Yemen's long-running conflict through a diplomatic settlement, while arguing that regional security must be safeguarded against armed groups and transnational threats.
