flydubai to launch direct flights to Benghazi from June
flydubai has announced the launch of direct flights to Benghazi, becoming the first UAE carrier to operate non-stop services between Dubai and the Libyan city.
The new route will begin on June 17, 2026, with flights operating three times a week between Dubai International Airport and Benghazi Benina International Airport. The service will depart from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport.
The Dubai-based carrier said the new connection is aimed at strengthening travel, trade and tourism links between the UAE and Libya while offering passengers from Benghazi easier access to flydubai’s expanding international network through Dubai.
Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said the launch marks another milestone in the airline’s network expansion strategy and reflects its focus on connecting underserved markets. He added that flydubai’s network is expected to grow to more than 100 destinations by the summer.
With the addition of Benghazi, flydubai’s network across East and North Africa will expand to 13 destinations in nine countries. The airline recently launched operations to Nairobi in Kenya and seasonal summer services to Al Alamein in Egypt.
Sudhir Sreedharan said Libya represents an important market with strong business and trade potential, noting that the airline expects increased travel demand during the Eid and summer travel season.
The airline also confirmed that the new Benghazi service will be available under the flydubai and Emirates codeshare partnership, allowing passengers to benefit from single-ticket bookings, baggage transfers and smoother connections across both networks.
Flights between Dubai and Benghazi will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Business Class return fares from Dubai start at AED 10,500, while Economy Class Lite fares start at AED 4,500.
