The pandemic in the United Kingdom could very well have stagnated Sam Pattate his skill set and find the perfect team to enhance his abilities. Yearning to elevate himself to the top of European ranking, Sam erson and what he sees as an inevitable road to the top, but the hold up and lockdown situation have only given him more time to elevwill be presented with the biggest challenge of his career as BRAVE CF, the fastest-growing promotion in the world heads back to Europe and has matched him up against Ylies Djiroun, Western Europe’s number one Lightweight athlete.

Patterson prides himself for defeating experienced opponents, and his last knockout victory against veteran Felipe Silva has pumped the fuel on his self esteem, leaving him hungry to prove himself and his style as the new generation of mixed martial artists, those who have started their journey straight into MMA, instead of the specialists, who have reigned for years on the scene.

For ‘’The Future’’, Djiroun is just another name on the sheet, although he understands a victory over the top Frenchman can elevate his name at BRAVE CF. “The opponent was irrelevant really,” says Patterson. “But a good feather in my cap when I beat another much more experienced opponent in Ylies Djiroun. If he comes limited to one art he will have a rough night.’’

Having three times the amount of fights as Patterson, Ylies has a decade of professional fighting under his belt, with 12 out of his 18 victories via stoppage, 10 of which were submissions. Not only is he the number one ranked Lightweight in Western Europe, he is also recognized as the top-ranked Lightweight in the United States. However, Patterson’s calmness and confidence come from an advantage to him that has been the talk of the town since news about the fight became public; a six-inch height difference and reach advantage.

“If we put the inches between us, compared to his record and my record, we’re probably on par you know,” says Patterson. “He’s a lot shorter than me, he’s like 5 foot nothing, I don’t know what his height is, but I believe any Lightweight I face, I’m always gonna have the reach advantage and the height advantage.”

Ylies Djiroun vs Sam Patterson will be taking place as part of the main card at BRAVE CF 51 in Minsk, Belarus on June 4th, a night headlined by the return of the former BRAVE CF Lightweight Champion Lucas Mineiro Martins facing the former two-division national champion Marcel Grabinski who has been taking BRAVE CF by storm.
