Work to revamp two mosques in Muharraq, Jidhafs completed

Work to revamp Al Hayak Mosque in Muharraq and Shaikh Mohsin Mosque in Jidhafs has been completed, Jafari Endowment Council chairman Yousef bin Saleh Al Saleh announced.

It is in line with the implementation of the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to launch a development scheme of houses of worship across the Kingdom of Bahrain and open, restore and revamp 30 Sunni and Jafari mosques.

Al Saleh praised the great care and support given to the houses of worship in Bahrain in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also commended the support and follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The chairman noted that work is in full swing to complete the second development plan of mosques in Bahrain during the holy month of Ramadan. He praised the efforts of the executive management to follow up on the implementation of the directives in coordination with the Jafari Endowment Council.

Jafari Endowment Director Mohammed Jafar Al Husaini expressed utmost thanks and gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his directives which reflects his care for mosques.

Restored, reopened

The Sunni Endowments Council has announced the rehabilitation and reopening of the “Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque” in Arad and the “Abdulwahab Al Zayani Mosque” in Muharraq after the completion of their maintenance work.

The move is based on the directives of HRH Prince Salman to inaugurate, restore and develop 30 mosques belonging to the Sunni and Ja’fari Endowments, located across the Kingdom’s governorates, as part of a development plan for mosques.

On the occasion, Sunni Endowments Council Chairman, Dr Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al Hajeri, praised the constant care enjoyed by houses of worship in the kingdom, thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad and the follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He added that the Sunni Directorate is exerting tremendous efforts to complete the maintenance of all places of worship to create good conditions for the worshipers to perform their worship in an atmosphere of tranquility, comfort and reverence, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab and Islamic nations further progress and prosperity.
