RCSI Bahrain Eyes GCC Cooperation
His Excellency Dr Yazid Al Ohaly, Advisor to the General Manager, Gulf Health Council, and former Member of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; His Excellency Professor Manaf Alqahtani, Chief Executive Officer, Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Gulf CDC); and Dr Rasha Alfawaz, Executive Director of Public Health Programs and Policies, Gulf CDC, met with Professor Sameer Otoom, President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) – Medical University of Bahrain, and members of the University’s senior management on campus.
Discussions explored opportunities for collaboration in public health, scientific research, capacity building, training and professional development, as well as avenues to draw on the University’s academic and scientific expertise to support health programmes and initiatives with the Gulf CDC. The meeting reflected the University’s commitment to developing partnerships that advance healthcare and research, and to promoting the exchange of expertise and knowledge within the region.
