Labour Ministry to continue developing services for citizens

Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan affirmed yesterday that the Ministry will continue in its efforts to develop services benefitting all citizens, particularly in providing job opportunities.

The Labour Minister said this in a meeting with Council of Representatives member MP Ammar Hussain Al Abbas, where they discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the executive and legislative branches to achieve common interests that meet citizens’ needs.

The Labour Minister affirmed that the Ministry is constantly working to ensure professional stability for Bahrainis under various circumstances. He added that the Ministry is carrying on its policy to provide social protection, supporting Bahraini families and empowering them economically in order to improve their living standards.

He further stressed the importance of the fruitful cooperation with the Representatives Council to enact the necessary laws that would achieve the national strategic goals in the fields of work and social care. On his part, MP Al Abbas commended the Labour Ministry’s efforts to achieve development goals, and affirmed his support for all programmes and projects aimed at delivering distinguished services to citizens.

The lawmaker also lauded the measures taken by the Labour Ministry during the exceptional circumstances resulting from the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). He called for more cooperation between the executive and legislative branches in order to overcome the current phase and continue the comprehensive development process in the Kingdom.
