Five Bahraini women entrepreneurs in Forbes Middle East 100 Most Powerful Arab Businesswomen list

Five Bahraini businesswomen have been listed in this year’s Forbes Middle East 100 Most Powerful Arab Businesswomen. Forbes Middle East also unveiled the names of its Most Powerful Arab Women for 2015 at a glittering awards ceremony yesterday.
The Bahraini businesswomen include Mona Almoayyed, Managing Director of YK Almoayyed & Sons Bahrain (Rank-7), Muna Al Hashemi, CEO of Batelco (Rank-10), Najla Al Shirawi, CEO, Securities and Investment Company (SICO) (Rank-19), Suha Karzoon, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Mumtalakat (Rank-26) and HH Sheikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Executive Director, INJAZ Bahrain (Rank-77).
Lubna Al Olayan, CEO of Olayan Financing, Saudi Arabia tops in the list of Most Powerful Arab Businesswomen followed by UAE entrepreneur Raja Easa Al Gurg, Managing Director, Al Gurg Group (Rank-2) and Sheikha Mayassa Al Thani, Chair of Qatar Museums (Rank-3).
The grand event recognised the achievements of women in reaching the top of their fields in business and government. In doing so, they have worked towards a fairer and more equal working environment across the Middle East.
Some of the awardees present at the awards ceremony included Mona Almoayyed, Managing Director of YK Almoayyed & Sons Bahrain, Marwa El Ayouti, CFO, Vodafone Egypt; Maitha Al Dossari, CEO Emmar Retail UAE; Sana Khater, CFO, Waha Capital Lebanon; Randa Bessiso, Founding Director, Middle East, Manchester Business School, University of Manchester; Shaikha Al Maskari, Chair, Al Maskari Holdings UAE; and Amna BinHendi, Deputy Chair, BinHendi Group UAE.
Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi – Minister of International Cooperation and Development, UAE; Nemat (Minouche) Shafik – Deputy Governor, Bank of England from Egypt; Lubna S. Olayan CEO Olayan Financing, Saudi Arabia; and Raja Easa Al Gurg, Managing Director Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, UAE also feature on the Forbes list - “The World's 100 Most Powerful Women”.
