Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, met with representatives of Bahrain’s hotel sector as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with industry stakeholders and review preparations for upcoming tourism seasons and events.

The meeting was attended by Sarah Ahmed Buhejji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA).

Minister Al Sairafi highlighted the important role of Bahrain’s tourism infrastructure, alongside the diverse hospitality services and experiences offered by hotels and resorts, in enhancing the Kingdom’s attractiveness as a leading tourism destination. She noted that Bahrain’s wide range of accommodation options helps attract visitors seeking quality hospitality experiences tailored to different preferences and budgets.

She emphasised that the diversity of hotel offerings contributes to meeting the expectations of various visitor segments while strengthening Bahrain’s position as a destination capable of delivering distinctive accommodation experiences that cater to a broad range of needs and aspirations.

The minister noted that close cooperation with the hotel sector remains a key pillar in supporting tourism growth and achieving the objectives of the Tourism Sector Strategy 2022–2026. She stressed the importance of continued coordination among all stakeholders to deliver a seamless tourism experience that reflects Bahrain’s status as a preferred destination for travel and hospitality.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the tourism sector and explored opportunities to expand cooperation in ways that enhance the visitor experience and further strengthen Bahrain’s presence on the regional and international tourism map.

Participants also discussed the “Walahna Alaikum” campaign and the Kingdom’s summer promotional campaign targeting visitors from fellow Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The discussions covered upcoming events and programmes featured in Bahrain’s tourism calendar for the coming months.

In addition, attendees examined proposals for developing integrated summer tourism packages through partnerships between hotels and other tourism stakeholders. The initiatives aim to offer comprehensive packages tailored to the Gulf market while enhancing the overall visitor experience.

The proposed packages include collaboration with shopping malls, event organisers and tourism establishments to create offers that combine accommodation, entertainment, shopping and other tourism experiences. The initiative is expected to strengthen Bahrain’s competitiveness as a preferred destination for Gulf families and respond to evolving visitor expectations during the summer season.
