Government consolidates apps under digital transformation plan

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has announced the full migration of services previously available on the “Islamiyat” mobile application to the government’s unified “MyGov” app, as part of Bahrain’s ongoing digital transformation strategy.

The transition is part of a wider government plan to consolidate public services into a smaller number of integrated platforms aimed at improving accessibility and simplifying the user experience.

The “MyGov” app is available to the public through the Bahrain eGovernment Apps Store via bahrain.bh/apps.

Push toward streamlined digital services

On the occasion, Ali Abdulaziz Janahi, Deputy Chief Executive for eTransformation at the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), said the move reflects continued efforts to make government services more convenient and user-friendly through digital channels.

He said the migration supports Bahrain’s broader strategy to enhance digital transformation across public services and reduce fragmentation across multiple applications.

Part of wider government app merger plan

Janahi added that the initiative is being implemented under the supervision of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, chaired by Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and in coordination with various government entities.

The plan seeks to consolidate existing government applications into three main platforms: the MyGov for individuals, AlTajir for businesses and investors, and the Bahrain for visitors.

Continued expansion of MyGov services

Janahi also noted that efforts are ongoing to further develop the “MyGov” platform by adding more services aligned with public priorities. He said the aim is to position the app as the primary digital gateway for government services in Bahrain.

Officials say the consolidation is expected to improve efficiency, reduce duplication, and provide users with a more seamless experience when accessing government services online.
