Foreign Minister Highlights Role of Bahraini Youth on Gulf Youth Day

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, praised the pivotal role played by Bahraini youth in advancing the Kingdom’s development, security, and diplomatic achievements under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Marking Gulf Youth Day, Dr. Al Zayani reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment, during its current presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), to strengthening joint Gulf youth initiatives, empowering young people, enhancing their capabilities, and expanding their contributions to peace, security, and sustainable development across the region.

The minister highlighted Bahrain’s pioneering efforts in youth empowerment, including the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, the Hope Network, and the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence. He noted that these initiatives have strengthened Bahrain’s position as a champion of tolerance, coexistence, and peace at the regional and international levels.

Dr. Al Zayani also expressed pride in the achievements of young Bahraini diplomats and officials, commending their role in advancing the Kingdom’s foreign policy objectives and supporting Bahrain’s participation in the United Nations Security Council during its 2026–2027 non-permanent membership term.

The Foreign Minister further praised the solidarity and responsible engagement demonstrated by Gulf youth in supporting the security and stability of GCC member states, particularly in the face of recent Iranian attacks. He reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to fostering youth leadership, strengthening Gulf unity, and promoting peaceful coexistence to build a more secure and prosperous future for coming generations.
