Dubai’s GameExpo is putting a strong focus on local artists, creatives, gaming developers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as it highlights the growing scale and ambition of the United Arab Emirates’ gaming and digital industries.
Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, the flagship event of the Dubai Esports & Games Festival features The Narrows — a curated platform supported by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
The dedicated space brings together more than 75 SMEs, offering visitors the chance to explore and purchase limited-edition merchandise, independently produced artwork, collectibles, and custom creations from Dubai-based creatives and businesses.
Among those showcasing their work was Adam Long, owner of Dubai Sound Academy, who said The Narrows has provided a valuable opportunity for exposure and engagement with a wider audience.
He said the platform allows his organisation to connect with new communities while also giving students the opportunity to demonstrate their DJ skills in a live, high-profile environment.
“Gaming is a strong community and this marketplace has a great vibe and atmosphere and with music, it is a brilliant combination,” Long said. “It is our first time participating here and there is a lot of engagement from attendees at GameExpo which is amazing to be part of.”
The event also reflects Dubai’s wider strategy to invest in future-focused industries, aligning with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to position the city as a global hub for innovation, entrepreneurship and digital talent.
Shaima Rashed Al Suwaidi, CEO of the Arts, Design and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, said GameExpo plays an important role in strengthening the emirate’s cultural and creative industries.
She said the event offers a platform for talent, entrepreneurs and creative businesses to showcase innovation, connect with industry professionals and reach wider audiences.
By creating opportunities for collaboration and growth, she added, GameExpo contributes to the development of future-facing creative sectors and supports Dubai’s position as a global centre for culture and talent.
Al Suwaidi also said Dubai Culture’s support for The Narrows reflects its commitment to empowering SMEs and creatives by opening pathways to new markets and partnerships, while strengthening the wider creative ecosystem.
Visitors can still attend The Narrows, with tickets starting from AED 29, alongside access to gaming, cosplay, esports competitions and immersive entertainment across 10 zones. Live tournaments are also scheduled for Sunday.
Organisers said ticket holders who purchased via Platinum List also have the chance to win a Jetour T2 Luxury Plus, courtesy of Jetour UAE under Elite Group Holding.
Free parking of up to six hours is available at Dubai World Trade Centre’s Mustaqbal Parking and Exhibition Street Parking with validated entry.
The Dubai Esports & Games Festival is presented by du, with support from partners including Amazon, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Jetour UAE, and talabat.
