ManamaThe Arabian Gulf Security 1 exercise has provided a unique opportunity for joint-GCC coordination on security strategies and measures to combat  challenges within the region, said the Crown Prince. 

Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also pointed out that the exercise comes as a result of a multi-lateral GCC security agreement aimed at boosting combat readiness. 

The Crown Prince said this while receiving GCC Interior Ministers following the conclusion of the joint-security exercise at the Royal Academy of Police. Prince Salman also praised the outstanding performance of all the participating GCC security forces.

Welcoming the participation of the GCC countries, HRH Prince Salman said that the exercise held in Bahrain from October 27 to November 16 was a huge success. 

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Qatar’s Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Lt. General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Shaikh Mohammed Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, Oman’s Minister of Interior, Humood bin Faisal Al Busaidi and Bahrain’s Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa were present on the occasion. 

While pointing out the need to have unified stances amidst ongoing regional challenges, Prince Salman hailed the efforts exerted by the GCC nations in maintaining regional security and stability, which is a key pillar of long-term sustainable development. 

The Crown Prince also hosted a lunch banquet honouring the arrival of the GCC Ministers of Interior, and marking the conclusion of Arabian Gulf Security 1. The banquet provided an opportunity for the GCC ministers to discuss a range of issues on supporting joint cooperation and coordination to ensure regional security and stability.
