Long-term security in Yemen stressed
Manama: Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met the President of Yemen Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi at Shaikh Hamad Palace in Gudaibiya yesterday.
During his welcoming remarks, Prince Salman praised the historic bilateral ties between Bahrain and Yemen, and emphasised the importance of achieving long-term security within Yemen.
The Crown Prince noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has consistently supported and promoted the principles of peace, justice and legitimacy.
Prince Salman went on to note that this longstanding commitment is reflected through the Kingdom’s participation in Operations Decisive Storm and Renewal of Hope to support the legitimate government of Yemen and to restore security and stability in the country.
Meanwhile, President Hadi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet Prince Salman, and appreciated Bahrain for its continued support.
The President further stressed that Yemen and its people will always remember Bahrain’s wide-ranging efforts to help restore national security and stability within Yemen, as well as the Kingdom’s substantial humanitarian assistance provided to Yemeni citizens.
The Deputy Prime Minister HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khaled bin Ahmed Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
