Minister Holds Riyadh Talks on Transport

Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, H.E. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, held a series of meetings with senior Saudi officials during his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to strengthen cooperation across transport, communications, logistics and investment.

The meetings focused on expanding joint cooperation and strategic integration between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in key sectors.

The minister met with H.R.H. Prince Mohammed bin Khalid Abdullah Al Faisal Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Saudi Telecom Company (STC), to discuss prospects for cooperation in telecommunications and digital infrastructure. The two sides also discussed continued coordination to support telecommunications networks and digital connectivity.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah also met Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser, where he expressed Bahrain’s appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s support in ensuring the sustainability and smooth flow of supply chains.

The two sides reviewed cooperation in land transport, ports and logistics services, as well as developments related to railway connectivity projects aimed at improving the movement of people and goods between the two countries.

The minister also met Saudi Minister of Investment Fahad bin Abduljalil Al-Saif, who also heads the Saudi side of the Investment, Environment and Infrastructure Coordination Committee under the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council.

The meeting covered joint investment opportunities in transport, infrastructure and logistics, along with ways to support priority initiatives and projects and further expand the existing partnership between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

In civil aviation, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah met Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation. He expressed Bahrain’s appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s cooperation and support in facilitating air traffic during the recent period.

The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination and exchange expertise in the civil aviation sector
