Bahrain backs Yemen’s unity: Foreign Minister

Manama: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, stated that the important talks held between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the President of Yemen, Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, had stressed the fraternal relations between the two countries.

Shaikh Khalid lauded Yemen’s supportive positions to the Kingdom of Bahrain, which are highly appreciated by all Bahrainis, who respect and love Yemen and its brotherly people.

He stressed Bahrain’s commitment to exert every effort for the best interest of Yemen.

He also underscored that Bahrain will support without hesitation any initiative that will strengthen the stability of Yemen, and will continue to participate in the Arab coalition until security and peace prevail all over the country.

He further confirmed Bahrain’s commitment to contribute in all humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Shaikh Khalid pointed out that the current and critical circumstances faced by the country imposed huge responsibilities that required extensive effort and intensive consultations to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the people of Yemen.

He pointed out the necessity to adhere to the political process in Yemen by all Yemenis to enjoy peace through the application of the UN Security Council resolution 2216, the commitment to the outputs of the national dialogue, and the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism.
