Tamkeen Channels BD 2.6 Billion into Bahrain's Economy
Maha Abdulhamid Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, presented the session, which was attended by Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, and several council members.
Mofeez outlined the key features of Tamkeen's strategy and its alignment with future aspirations, including employment and professional development pathways for Bahraini youth, as well as goals for cultural sustainability and national identity. She emphasised that the strategy is designed to respond swiftly to shifting local and global economic conditions.
Since its establishment, Tamkeen has provided direct and indirect funding totalling BD 2.6 billion over 20 years, created 300,000 development opportunities for Bahrainis, and supported enterprises through 92,000 additional opportunities.
The new strategy centres on empowering institutions to drive a productive, sustainable economy built on skilled and competitive Bahraini talent. Council members welcomed the presentation and stressed the importance of aligning Tamkeen's strategy with national legislation to strengthen workforce development policies and broaden career prospects for Bahraini youth.
