First phase includes roads, utilities and essential infrastructure for 125,000sqm mixed-use development

Naseej has officially commenced infrastructure works for its flagship Amwaj Avenue project at the entrance of Amwaj Islands in Muharraq Governorate, marking the start of construction for one of the company’s major mixed-use developments.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Bassem bin Yaqoob Al Hamar, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB); Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayyat, Chief Executive of the Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA); and Amin Al Arrayed, Chief Executive Officer of Naseej.

Al Hamar said the project reflects the continued expansion of Bahrain’s real estate sector and highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in driving urban development.

He stressed SLRB’s commitment to supporting developers through streamlined procedures, faster transactions, and the issuance of title deeds to improve project readiness and strengthen the investment environment.

Al Khayyat described the groundbreaking as a significant milestone, signalling the project’s move from the planning stage to implementation.

He reaffirmed UPDA’s commitment to promoting sustainable urban development through strategic projects and continued cooperation with private sector partners.

Naseej CEO Amin Al Arrayed said Amwaj Avenue represents one of the company’s key mixed-use developments and aligns with its vision of creating integrated and sustainable communities.

He praised the support provided by UPDA and SLRB in helping advance the project towards execution.

The first phase of the development will focus on constructing roads, utilities and essential infrastructure.
