Electrical Supplier Wins BD278,963 Court Claim

High Commercial Court ordered a trading company to pay BD278,963 to an electrical materials supplier after ruling that the amount remained outstanding for supplied equipment and lighting products.

The court also ordered the company to pay 3% annual legal interest from the date the lawsuit was filed until full settlement, along with court expenses and lawyers’ fees.

The claim against the company’s shareholders was dismissed.

According to court records, the supplier had provided electrical goods worth around BD362,000, but the company failed to complete payment. The supplier sought compensation from both the company and its shareholders.

During the case, both parties accepted the findings of an accounting expert, who determined that after deducting previous payments and settlements, the remaining unpaid amount was BD278,963.

The court considered the accepted expert report as confirmation of the outstanding debt, noting that neither party presented valid objections challenging the findings.

The court ruled that the shareholders could not be held personally responsible, as the company operates as a limited liability company (LLC) with a separate legal and financial identity. It found no evidence of misconduct, legal violations, or personal involvement by the shareholders in the disputed payments.

The court therefore ordered the company to settle the full amount, including legal interest and related costs.
