239TH I-DAY celebrated at american embassy

The US Embassy in Manama celebrated the 239th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel yesterday.  

US Ambassador William Roebuck remarked on the occasion of American National Day, “The United States values greatly our relationship with the Kingdom of Bahrain, rooted in the history of our people-to-people ties dating back to the early years of the 20th century.  We are committed to enhancing our vital partnerships in the Kingdom and further solidifying the special US-Bahraini relationship, which is based on mutual respect and a long history of consultation between friends.”

“As evidenced by the companies showcased at this reception, our robust trade relations continue to grow under our Free Trade Agreement, forging stronger ties between the business communities in Bahrain and the United States,” he added. 

Ministers, including Minister of Industry and Commerce Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Information Affairs Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunication, Kamal Ahmed and Foreign Affairs Ministry Undersecretary Abdulla Abdullatif were present at the event.

Other senior government officials, diplomats, businessmen, Shura and Parliament councils’ members, academics, and journalists also attended the ceremony.

In honour of the 25th anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act, sign language interpreters from the Bahrain Deaf Society interpreted the ceremony.

The reception featured displays of technology such as the boutique manufacturing tools being explored at the Bahrain FabLab, robotics technology used by the US Navy and the Bahrain School’s Robotics Club.
