Gulf Air Expands Temporary Commercial Network via Dammam
Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced the expansion of its temporary commercial network operating through King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to include Frankfurt and Nairobi, with additional destinations expected to be announced in the coming days.
The two new destinations will be available for travel from March 23 to March 28. They join the airline’s existing temporary commercial routes via Dammam, which include flights to London Heathrow, Mumbai, and Bangkok.
The move reflects Gulf Air’s continued efforts to maintain air connectivity for the Kingdom amid the temporary closure of Bahrain’s airspace. To facilitate travel procedures, the airline will provide transportation services between the Kingdom of Bahrain and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam for passengers holding confirmed bookings on these flights.
Gulf Air will also assist in arranging transit visas through the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia exclusively for passengers traveling to and from Bahrain who use the airline’s organized land transport services. Passengers whose final destination is Saudi Arabia must hold a valid entry visa arranged independently.
All travelers can book their flights through Gulf Air’s regular booking channels via its official website, gulfair.com, or through the mobile application.
The airline has urged passengers not to proceed to the airport unless they have a confirmed booking.
Gulf Air’s temporary suspension of flights to and from Bahrain International Airport remains in place due to the continued closure of the Kingdom’s airspace. The airline will resume its scheduled operations once the Civil Aviation Affairs of Bahrain announces the reopening of the airspace.
