Ministry of Interior to Test Emergency Alert System Nationwide
The Ministry of Interior (MOI) announced that it will launch a trial operation of the Emergency Alert System across all mobile phones and smart devices today at 9:30 PM.
The test aims to ensure the system’s readiness and the effective delivery of emergency notifications to the public in critical situations.
In this context, the Ministry advised citizens and residents using iOS-powered devices to update their phones to at least version 26.2 to guarantee the timely and complete receipt of emergency alerts. The MOI explained that the update is essential to ensure alerts are delivered properly during emergencies.
The Ministry clarified that users of Android and Huawei devices are not required to take any action, as their systems are already compatible with the Emergency Alert System.
Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Ministry of Interior encouraged all users to keep their devices updated to remain informed and prepared during emergency situations.
