His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Honors Bahrain Handball Champions with Housing Units

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, received Bahrain’s national handball team at Al-Sakhir Palace today. The reception also included His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

The team, along with their technical and administrative staff, visited His Majesty following their historic triumph at the 22nd Asian Men’s Handball Championship in Kuwait — Bahrain’s first-ever title in the competition.

During the meeting, His Majesty warmly congratulated the players and staff on this remarkable achievement, praising their high-level performance, sportsmanship, and dedication. He emphasized that their victory reflects the progress and rising status of Bahraini handball on the regional and international stage.

His Majesty also commended the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in supporting Bahraini sports and youth, providing the right environment and resources to enable athletes to excel. He acknowledged the outstanding work of the Bahrain Handball Federation, led by Mr. Ali Ishaqi, and the team’s technical and administrative staff in preparing the players for success. The role of Bahraini fans in motivating the team was also highlighted as a key factor in their victory.

In a generous gesture of appreciation, His Majesty ordered the granting of housing units to the national team players, recognizing their historic accomplishment and his ongoing commitment to supporting Bahraini athletes and youth.

The players and staff expressed deep gratitude to His Majesty for his continuous support and for the housing gift, pledging to continue their pursuit of victories and to uphold Bahrain’s name proudly in all sporting arenas.
