GCC Reviews Emergency Response Plans
Meeting in Riyadh reviews emergency plans, joint rescue teams and training cooperation
The 35th meeting of the Directors General of Civil Defence of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states was held at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, chaired by Brigadier Staff Pilot Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi, Director General of Bahrain’s General Directorate of Civil Defence.
The meeting discussed ways to strengthen coordination in civil protection and public safety, develop joint emergency plans and follow up on the work of specialised technical teams.
Al Kubaisi stressed the importance of continued cooperation among GCC civil defence agencies to protect lives and property, particularly amid current regional conditions.
Officials also reviewed developments related to the Higher Institute of Civil Defence in Bahrain, the GCC Unified Response and Rescue Team and the GCC Emergency Management Centre.
The meeting further discussed joint training programmes, courses and the exchange of expertise and experience among GCC civil defence agencies.
