GCC Condemns Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has strongly condemned the latest Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, describing them as a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the affected states and a direct threat to regional security and stability.

GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said the member states stand firmly with Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan and support all measures taken by the three countries to safeguard their sovereignty, security and stability and protect their citizens and residents.

The condemnation came after renewed Iranian attacks on Wednesday, with Bahrain reporting that its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed several aerial threats. Kuwait also reported missile and drone attacks, including an incident involving a residential complex, while Jordan said its air defences intercepted Iranian ballistic missiles entering its airspace.

The latest escalation has raised fresh concerns over regional stability as the Gulf states face continued security threats linked to the wider US-Iran conflict. Qatar separately condemned the attacks, calling them a breach of international law and the UN Charter and urging an immediate halt to military actions and a return to dialogue and negotiations.

The GCC has reaffirmed its collective support for the affected countries and stressed the importance of protecting the region's security, sovereignty and civilian populations.
