UN Chief Urges Renewed US-Iran Talks Amid Escalation

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has urged the United States and Iran to resume negotiations as military tensions continue across the Middle East.
He called for "maximum containment" and warned of the wider consequences of renewed strikes. Guterres also urged the restoration of freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab.
