Historic city through design, rich culture and creativity

TDT | Manama The Design Program at the fourth edition of the Muharraq Nights Festival showcases the historic features of Muharraq City through a series of events, exhibitions, and activities along the Pearl Path, coinciding with Bahrain Holidays 2025.

This was emphasised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA).

The program includes artistic performances, interactive workshops, and a variety of activities held across heritage houses and cultural spaces, with participation from local markets, shops, and creative initiatives.

Workshops

A series of creative workshops and specialized design experiences are also part of the program, featuring furniture and home accessory designs.

At Al-Hala Building, the Artiology collection presents innovative design pieces, while Beit Turabi hosts a cultural experience by Bayt Kalimat from the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, offering selected books and local products.

The festival also opened several design exhibitions, including one in collaboration with the Sadu Society from Kuwait, showcasing textile arts inspired by traditional Sadu patterns at Beit Haneen Rehan.

Beit Haneen Ward features products inspired by Al-Nashl robes, handcrafted by Abdulkader Ahmed, one of the last specialists in authentic AlNashl weaving.

Publications

Meanwhile, Beit Haneen Yasmeen hosts Asolin Publishing House exclusively, presenting curated publications that combine high-quality design with cultural and artistic content.

“Waraqiyat: Public Pages” at Complex 215 hosts a number of local and regional publishing houses and bookstores, including the Fan Jameel store represented by Riwaq Art Space, showcasing recent releases in contemporary art, design, architecture, and culture.
