‘Home Away from Home’ Christmas program unites expat communities at Sacred Heart Catholic Church

Around 1,200 participants attended the morning and afternoon celebrations of the parish Christmas program titled “Home Away from Home,” held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

This free Christmas Day event aimed to provide support, festive cheer, and joy to overseas workers of all nationalities, including Filipinos, Indians, Sri Lankans, Africans, and others.

Commitment

The program was open to everyone, including non-Catholics, highlighting the parish’s commitment to inclusivity, compassion, and unity.

“Home Away from Home” was a parish-wide event under the leadership of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Francis Padavupurackkal Joseph, and was organized by the Filipino Catholic Community.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Ulysses Dela Cruz, Coordinator of the Filipino Catholic Community.

Generosity

The prizes and gifts distributed during the program were made possible through the generosity of parishioners and communities.

Funds were sourced from the Midnight Mass offerings, contributions from the Poor of St. Anthony (POSA), and donations from other communities of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Through the “Home Away from Home” program, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its diverse communities continue to live out the true spirit of Christmas ensuring that people far from home experience warmth, hope, and a sense of belonging, regardless of nationality or faith.
