His Majesty the King Commends Radio Bahrain on 85 Years of Broadcasting Excellence

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, today lauded the noble media mission carried out by Radio Bahrain in serving the community, spreading awareness and knowledge, and promoting the values of national unity, tolerance, and coexistence — while providing citizens with a free and objective platform for expression.

Marking the 85th anniversary of the Kingdom’s first radio broadcast — also the first in the Gulf region — His Majesty congratulated all members of Bahrain Radio, expressing deep appreciation for their dedicated efforts in carrying the voice of the Kingdom to the world through this pioneering media institution.

His Majesty praised the station’s enduring legacy as a cornerstone in Bahrain’s media journey, highlighting its role in showcasing the Kingdom’s renaissance, rich heritage, and the achievements and culture of its people. He emphasized the station’s contributions to preserving Bahrain’s authentic values and celebrating the nation’s diverse cultural and national occasions.

His Majesty also commended the remarkable progress achieved by Bahrain Radio over the decades, attributing its success to the creativity and professionalism of successive generations of broadcasters and media professionals who have shaped the country’s vibrant media landscape.

On this occasion, His Majesty praised the Ministry of Information for its professional and effective performance in advancing Bahrain’s visual, audio, and digital media sectors. He also emphasized the importance of nurturing young national media talent — the true wealth of the nation — in driving continued progress and prosperity.

Concluding his remarks, His Majesty extended his best wishes to all those working in the radio and media sectors, wishing them continued success in serving their nation and community.
